Vertice Hospitality Management, the hospitality development team behind SingleThread, Sonoma’s only three-Michelin-starred, North America’s 50 Best Restaurants’ Best Restaurant in the West 2025, and La Liste-rated #1 Best Restaurant in the world; the 24-acre SingleThread Farm; and MICHELIN Three Key SingleThread Inn, all located in Healdsburg, California, today announced plans for its latest hospitality experience: The Selvedge, A SingleThread Inn.
The Selvedge, which represents a complete renovation of the former River Belle Inn, a Healdsburg mansion first built in 1895 as the home of American wine industry pioneer Isabelle Simi Haigh, and later transformed into a luxury bed and breakfast, will introduce a redesigned and reimagined guest experience to Healdsburg upon opening its 10 rooms in late 2026.
Born from a textile tradition that champions small-batch hand craftmanship over mass-produced industrial manufacturing, The Selvedge draws its name from the time-honored technique of finishing the edges of garments with fine detail, intention and integrity. This concept of individual attention and bespoke care will underpin the guest experience at The Selvedge, just as it does at SingleThread Farm, Restaurant and Inn.
Exterior architecture for The Selvedge will be led by Axia Architects, with interior design overseen by AvroKO, the same firm behind SingleThread’s eponymous restaurant and Inn. The design of The Selvedge will draw inspiration from the formative experiences of its husband-and-wife owners, Kyle and Katina Connaughton, who spent extensive time living and working in England. Chef Kyle’s parents both immigrated to the U.S. from England and as a dual U.S.-English citizen there has always been a longstanding connection that was further inspired by the Connaughton’s years cooking and farming in the Oxfordshire countryside. The design and guest experience will also pay homage to the Inn’s distinctive location on the banks of the Russian River.
In tribute to the original building’s charming Victorian-style architecture and rich family heritage, the signature Victorian building exterior will remain the same, as will portions of the property that served as the former home of Isabelle Simi. The Inn’s grounds will be relandscaped with an English influence, featuring secluded herb and rose gardens, as well as a wrap-around porch. The remaining interior spaces will embrace a color palette deeply influenced by nature, emulating elements of the surrounding Sonoma wilderness. Rooted in familial tradition and the spirit of home, The Selvedge’s interiors will blend handcrafted ornamentation, curated vintage pieces and floral motifs intentionally juxtaposed with unexpected metal accents, bold patterns and textures, with a unifying theme to maintain balance.
The Selvedge will also offer guests inviting spaces to connect, including a library, parlor, communal breakfast room and amenity area, and barista-staffed coffee bar. Each of the nine garden-view and riverside guest rooms, including a 2,000 square-foot, third-floor suite complete with a fully appointed, professional Miele kitchen, will be individually designed, featuring cozy fireplaces and patios. Harnessing the meditative calm of the nearby flowing river, the new fitness center and outdoor wellness programming will invite guests to nourish body, mind and soul with intentional rituals and offerings sourced directly from SingleThread Farm itself.
Much like SingleThread Farm, Restaurant and the group’s existing Inn located at 131 North St. in Healdsburg, The Selvedge will emphasize seasonality and a deep connection to Healdsburg and the greater Sonoma Valley. Many of the fixtures, furnishings and finishes selected for The Selvedge will be locally sourced or custom-made, reflecting SingleThread’s unwavering devotion to intentionality, refinement and enduring craftsmanship.
The Selvedge is simultaneously refined and a rebellious reinterpretation of the quintessential bed and breakfast. “Both posh and punk”, explains Katina. When it opens in late 2026, it will operate as an all-inclusive bed and breakfast experience, offering its own interpretation of time-honored British traditions including Sunday roasts and afternoon tea. Run by SingleThread alumni and couple Brianna Davis and fiancée Chef Kyle Knox, The Selvedge will be a living tapestry, woven from SingleThread’s eclectic influences into a completely new, but entirely heartfelt hospitality experience.
