Leonardo Hotels Central Europe continues to grow through strategic partnerships and significant investments in the hospitality sector. The company has focused on acquiring new properties, particularly in the lifestyle and individual hotel categories, aiming to broaden its portfolio and strengthen its market presence.

Investment and expansion plans

In 2024, Leonardo Hotels made a major move by securing a €419 million investment from the Fattal Partnership III, established in January 2024. This partnership has led to the acquisition of 23 hotels across the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, valued at around €604 million.

Notably, Leonardo Hotels acquired 12 hotels in the Netherlands for approximately €370 million in July 2024 alone. As the company expands, a new partnership is already in the planning stages.

The expansion of our portfolio to include Leonardo Limited Edition adds an exclusive collection of extraordinary hotels, which all boast their own separate history and an individual style. Each of these offers our guests a unique experience.Yoram Biton, Managing Director of Leonardo Hotels Central Europe

NYX Hotels: Focusing on the lifestyle segment

Leonardo Hotels has also focused on expanding its lifestyle segment with the NYX Hotels brand, aimed at design-conscious, young travelers. The brand emphasizes metropolitan chic, creative ambiance, and a vibrant atmosphere that reflects the local culture.

The NYX Hotel Berlin Köpenick, opening this spring, will feature extensive renovations that create a urban vibe. Other NYX Hotels in Rome, Leipzig, and Brno are in the pipeline.

The NYX Hotel Rome, set to open in summer 2025, will offer 324 rooms and suites, blending the city’s classical elegance with contemporary design. The hotel will feature a smart bar, a restaurant, an outdoor pool, and three conference rooms.

Leonardo Limited Edition: unique and curated hotels

Another significant move for Leonardo Hotels is the introduction of the Leonardo Limited Edition brand, which includes exceptional individual hotels with unique character and historical significance. This collection features iconic properties such as The Dilly in London, The Grand Brighton, and the Nikolai Hotel in Hamburg.

In 2024, The Nikolai Hotel became the first German property in this collection. The brand also includes the Hotel Alden Splügenschloss in Zurich, a boutique five-star hotel, and the Mannheimer Hof. The Posthouse in Berlin and the Badischer Hof in Baden-Baden are also joining this exclusive collection.

Focusing on growth and modernization

Leonardo Hotels has plans for further expansion across Europe, with a particular focus on France, Scandinavia, Croatia, and Serbia. The company targets an average annual growth of 10%.

Investments are also being made in existing hotels, with recent expansions at the Leonardo Royal Warsaw adding 184 rooms, bringing the total to 362 rooms. Additionally, Leonardo Central Europe upgraded approximately 1,000 rooms in 2024 and plans similar modernizations for 2025.

Leonardo Hotels Central Europe continues to implement its robust growth strategy, positioning itself as a leading player in the European hotel sector. Through strategic acquisitions and investments, the company aims to enhance its market position and expand its diverse portfolio of lifestyle and individual hotels.

We have expanded our portfolio by more than 40 hotels over the past three years. We have pushed both leisure and business destinations in a targeted way in order to reinforce our position in Europe over the long term. Jan Heringa, Vice President of Development at Leonardo Hotels
