Leading UK charity Hospitality Action has announced a strategic partnership with Montgomery Group, the country’s longest-running independent events organiser.
The partnership aims to raise awareness of Hospitality Action’s vital work whilst promoting a more resilient and supported hospitality workforce. As one of Montgomery Group’s official charity partners, Hospitality Action will be championed across the organiser’s leading hospitality trade shows Independent Hotel Show and HRC.
Bringing together two organisations with deep roots in the industry, this collaboration combines nearly two centuries of sector support. Since 1837, Hospitality Action has provided financial assistance, mental health support and crisis aid to hospitality workers. Montgomery Group, a family-owned business founded in 1895, operates over 50 major events across 15 countries and has a proud legacy of championing hospitality innovation and excellence
As part of Montgomery Group’s continued commitment to support the hospitality industry through some of its most challenging times, Hospitality Action will receive promotion from HRC and the Independent Hotel Show, benefitting from these events’ high-profile platforms to share stories, engage with the industry and generate crucial charitable contributions.

Behind their smiles and slick service hospitality workers can fall upon hard times just like anybody else. Ours is a stressful industry, with long hours, high pressure environments and physically demanding work. Since 1837 we’ve been here for chefs, waiters, housekeepers and managers. We’ve been here for concierges, receptionists, and kitchen porters. And we’ve been here for every sommelier, bartender, catering assistant and cook throughout the UK.
The last four years have been transformational for our industry, the people who work within it and for Hospitality Action too. We were one of the first UK charities to mount an emergency response to the Covid- 19 pandemic in 2020 and we kept pace with the stop-start nature of re-opening as each wave triggered business closures and increasingly unpredictable employment patterns. Our grant-giving, advisory services and EAP provision continue to evolve to meet the ever-changing demands of the industry in the face of the cost-of-living crisis.
