Four Seasons has announced the opening of a new hotel complex in Seville, strengthening its presence in Spain and Europe. The project aims to transform a historic building into a luxury hotel, and marks an important step for the city in the upmarket tourism sector.

A new luxury hotel in Seville

Four Seasons has chosen Seville to open its third hotel in Spain, after Madrid and Majorca. The hotel will be located in the historic Generali building, right in the heart of the Plaza Nueva, one of the city’s most emblematic squares.

The project represents an investment of more than 80 million euros and will be completed by the end of 2027, with 60 rooms and suites.

As part of the Group’s expansion into upmarket destinations, the future hotel will also offer gastronomic areas, meeting rooms, a wellness area and services tailored to the needs of both business and leisure travellers.

A transformation of historical heritage

The project will involve the complete transformation of the Generali building, constructed in the 1940s by the architect Galnares Sagastizábal. The aim is to make this hotel a nerve centre for luxury tourism in Seville.

The hotel will be designed to fully integrate the city’s architectural elements into its design. One of the aims is to renovate the site to make it a model of excellence for top-of-the-range tourism in Spain.

Economic and social impact for the city

The property of Four Seasons in Seville is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, particularly through job creation and the strengthening of the tourism sector.

The Mayor added that ‘the city’s strategy is based on promoting its heritage, culture and local identity, and the arrival of the Four Seasons is an example of this’. The opening of this hotel will help to raise the profile of the tourism sector and stimulate investment in the city and the region.

In addition to the economic benefits, the refurbishment of the Generali building will help to revitalise the Plaza Nueva and transform the urban landscape, consolidating Seville as a premium destination for investors and travellers.

This project completes Four Seasons’ offering in Spain and marks a new phase in its European expansion, consolidating the group’s presence in key markets.
