MGallery Collection is, for the sixtieth consecutive year, joining the global effort in the battle against breast cancer, as it marks Pink October with a series of initiatives and events. The initiatives are designed to raise money for research and educate people on the early signs and symptoms of the disease, which makes up 30% of all diagnosed cancer cases in women today. Over the course of the month, MGallery Collection hotels will mark this meaningful moment with all things pink, from cocktails to changing facades, education and partnerships with NGOs.
Making a profound impact on women’s lives is central to MGallery’s mission. Whether hotel guests, employees (Heartists, as they are known internally), or local members of the community, the brand strives to support and amplify female voices through its manifesto, and partnerships with local NGOs, all year round.
Pink October activations will happen across all MGallery Collection hotels, with additional celebrations taking place locally. Initiatives across all MGallery hotels include:
MGallery Collection symmetry of attention
A series of internal competitions will take place including events and training to help educate people across the world around the early signs and symptoms of breast cancer. MGallery Heartists will also take up the challenge of running as many kilometres as they can throughout Pink October. The MGallery Collection hotel whose Heartists have covered the most distance will receive the equivalent amount in euros in donations from MGallery to the famous Gustave Roussy first European cancer center. Further still, guests will have the opportunity to contribute and make a two euro per night donation to a selected local breast cancer awareness association.
Encouraging education and self-examination
Guests can educate themselves on early signs and symptoms of breast cancer by scanning a QR code sticker located in the bathrooms. Upon scanning, guests will be given access to an exclusive video podcast, sharing insights into breast cancer prevention, including tips on self-examination and early detection techniques.
Iconic landmarks illuminated pink
A selection of hotels, known for their unique designs, will illuminate their facades with eye-popping pink, lighting up the surrounding area in support of breast cancer awareness month. This is following the footsteps of the Eiffel Tower, Empire State Building and Christ Rédempteur, in being decorated in glorious pink this month.
Through the front doors, staff and colleagues will come together, proudly wearing pink ribbons, as they greet guests with a refreshing Pink October welcome drink.
MGallery partners to make Pink October stand out
