RoomPriceGenie, a developer of an award-winning revenue management solution for hotels, has just released a brand-new feature that has been high on customers’ wish lists: Minimum Length of Stay Restrictions (MinLOS).

With Minimum stay restrictions, you can set the minimum number of nights a guest must book to stay on a particular date. For example, when a minimum stay of three nights is set, any booking for that night must be for at least three consecutive nights.

Minimum stay restrictions can be used to spread demand from particularly busy nights, so that you fill up the not-so-busy nights on either side. Also, many hotels use them to save on housekeeping costs because you don’t need to turn the room around during the stay.

Recognizing the vital connection between profitability and demand, many hoteliers view minimum stay restrictions as a crucial aspect of revenue management. Our customers have expressed a strong desire to manage these restrictions seamlessly within RoomPriceGenie, just as they do with pricing.

With the introduction of this feature, hoteliers and property owners can now:

  • Read & adjust minimum stays: Automatically view your current minimum stay settings directly within RoomPriceGenie. Make daily adjustments or apply bulk edits to your minimum stay restrictions with ease.
  • Automatically correct impossible restrictions: RoomPriceGenie will search for and correct impossible minimum stay scenarios, such as when surrounding nights are fully booked for a specific room type.
  • Define rules: Professional plan users can set criteria to automatically remove minimum stay restrictions within a certain number of days before the arrival date or in response to not meeting an occupancy threshold.

Most importantly, it gives them greater control over their bookings, maximizing occupancy and, as a result, increasing their revenue.

Minimum stay restrictions are an important part of the revenue manager’s toolkit and we have been looking at adding this feature for years. But before doing so, we wanted to be confident that we could give a simple and intuitive user experience, like we do for everything else we do. This feature is already available for Property Management Systems like Mews and will soon be rolling out for Cloudbeds, Booking Factory, Beds24 and Apaleo. We’re also planning to expand to more PMS integrations in the near future.
